1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 OAWeek2013Open Access Week (October 21 – 27, 2013), now in its sixth year, is celebrated around the globe through events sponsored by academic institutions, research organizations, and funding agencies. Event organizers seek to promote open access to information, defined as “free, immediate online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need.” Thanks to Michigan Publishing (which is sponsoring its Open Access Week series of events at the University of Michigan), we’re proud to freely share our digital book-in-progress, Web Writing: Why and How for Liberal Arts Teaching and Learning, under a Creative Commons BY-NC license. During our open peer review (through October 30th), commissioned experts and general readers have posted over 675 comments (so far!) to offer developmental feedback to authors and assist the editorial team in making selections for the final manuscript. The final book will be published in 2014 in print (for sale) and online (for free) through the Maize Books imprint of Michigan Publishing. Check out what readers are saying about the book (and how authors are responding) at http://WebWriting.trincoll.edu
